Wedding Makeup

Bridesmaids and other wedding party members can choose from traditional makeup application or airbrush makeup application. Both applications have a similar look, but some have a personal preference. (Read on for more details) Makeup application will take approximately 45 minutes per person.

Traditional Makeup Application

Traditional makeup application refers to liquid makeup applied with a brush and/or sponge. The brand used will be determined by which formula will suit your skin type and color the best. Brands include: MAKE UP FOREVER, MAC Cosmetics, RCMA, Mehron, Hourglass, HUDA, Dior, Estée Lauder and more. All of the foundations used are made to be long-wearing and can be customized from light to full coverage.

Airbrush Makeup Application

I will use an airbrush machine to apply your foundation to suit your desired look. The largest benefit of airbrush makeup is it’s durability and minimal need for touch-ups. It is more water resistant than traditional makeup and can withstand (much better) humidity, sweat and tears. It also feels very lightweight on the skin, which is great for those who are aren’t accustomed to wearing liquid foundation. The coverage can be customized from light (sheer) to full. The rest of your makeup will be applied traditionally with brushes. This is typically the top choice for wedding parties.

Bride Makeup Application

The bride has a choice of using traditional or airbrush makeup. The bride price includes a custom trial prior to your wedding date to discuss your vision, test out products on your skin and to create a final look that you will love. The trial can be any date leading up to your wedding. Brides sometimes like to have their trial on a day where they will be photographed such as their bridal shower, a birthday party or event, but it can also be take place on any ordinary day. A trial will typically take 1.5-2 hours (it goes by quickly!)

On your wedding day, your makeup application will take approximately 1 hour.

Event Makeup Appointments

If you would like your makeup done for any occasion, whether it be for a wedding, formal event, birthday, date night, photoshoot, TV/Commercial, etc, I can bring my makeup and travel to you!

Solo makeup appointments will take 60-90 minutes, depending on the complexity of the makeup look.

Plan accordingly. Allow enough time (more than you might think) in order to be on time to your event stress-free. It will take me 10-15 minutes to set up upon arrival, and about the same amount of time to clean up, pack up and leave. Also, take into consideration if you may have any distractions during the makeup process (small children, pets, etc) that can slow down the process.

What products do you use?

I use a large variety of high quality makeup and brands including: MAKE UP FOREVER, NARS, Mehron, RCMA, MAC Cosmetics, DIOR, Hourglass, HUDA, Tarte, Cover FX, Estée Lauder, Fenty, Becca, Chanel, Guerlain, Marc Jacobs, Anastasia of Beverly Hills, Urban Decay and more. The makeup I use is designed to last and look beautiful in person and in photographs. I also use a variety of makeup brushes from MAC Cosmetics, TOM FORD, NARS, Sigma, Morphe and more.

How can I prepare ahead for our appointment?

In the week leading up to your event, gently exfoliate your skin with a gentle scrub, and follow with a moisturizer. Moisturize your skin and lips daily, so that on your event date, the makeup will lay nicely on your skin. For chapped lips, generously apply a lip balm the night before as well as the morning.

Collect pictures of makeup looks that you like. This is very helpful in determining the general look you are going for. Pinterest is a great tool! Remember that your photo/s will be used as inspiration, it won’t be a carbon copy (as products differ, eye shape, coloring, etc). I will make sure we achieve a look that you will love.

Plan for (minimal) touch-ups- Your makeup will stay in tact for your event, but after hours, lip products will fade. I do suggest that you purchase (or have on hand) a lip product that you would like to wear, so that it may be re-applied throughout the day/night. A blot powder may also be a great idea if your event is outdoors in the heat, or if you have very oily skin.

How can I prepare for the day of our appointment?

The best way to prepare is to have a clean face. I will use my own moisturizers, etc that will work well with my makeup products.

Do I travel to you or do you travel to me?

I mostly travel to my clients, as I do not work from a salon. I can travel to your home or location of choice.

What will you bring if you travel to me?

I will bring all of my makeup and tools, as well as my own lighting.

What is a good area for you to set up?

I can set up in any room in your home, preferably a room that is well-lit, and where there is a table or surface that I can set some of my tools on for ease of use. A bar stool works great as a makeup chair.

Can I play music or will it be a distraction?

Absolutely! If you want to turn on your Pandora or portable speaker as we apply your makeup, it is totally fine! This should be a fun and relaxing experience, so feel free to play some of your favorite tunes.

Do you charge travel fees?

A travel fee will be determined based on location (I am based out of Park Ridge). For wedding parties, the bride is responsible for the travel fee as well as parking/valet fees if applicable.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept Cash, Zelle/Quickpay, Cashapp and Venmo.
