Jeffree Star Peach Goddess Skin Frost ($29, 0.53 oz) is a warm, light pink/champagne frosted highlighting powder that can be used in multiple ways.
I own a bunch of highlighters, but I don’t own any that are similar to the color of Peach Goddess. Many of the shades I own are more golden, whereas Peach Goddess is more pink. It’s an especially nice color paired with pink blushes, although it’s subtle and versatile enough to pair with any colored blush.
Highlighter is one of my favorite steps in my makeup routine, and I hardly ever skip the step of sweeping a luminous glow across the highest points of my cheeks. Highlighter immediately transforms the face adding light and luminosity, creating the illusion of great, healthy and young skin.
The formulation of Peach Goddess is pretty nice. It’s soft to the touch, not chalky or powdery and doesn’t crumble or get dusty when swiped with a brush. It’s not as silky or creamy as one of my other favorites – Laura Geller Gilded Honey, nevertheless the formula is not too bad. A bit difficult to describe – even though the product is soft, it doesn’t pick up a lot of product at once and even though it doesn’t have a dry feel, the way it picks up product, it seems a bit dry. I wish it was a bit more finely milled. It doesn’t apply heavy or intensely metallic, but it’s definitely buildable, and you can apply it damp if you’d like more of a bulletproof shine.
Also, as many other reviewers have stated, the compact is huge. You get 15 grams of product, which is double the amount of product compared to Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector ($38, 8 grams) or Anastasia Beverly Hills Illuminator ($28, 9 grams), so you’re getting your money’s worth with Jeffree Star.
In all of the photos I’m wearing Peach Goddess on my cheeks in addition to MAC Pink Cloud Powder Blush.
Overall I think it’s a great product and I’ve really been enjoying using it. Is it a must-have? Probably not, but the color is also unique enough where you know it’s not going to look exactly like the other highlighters in your collection. I prefer Anastasia, Becca or Laura Gellar, but I’m happy I own it, and I will get lots of use from it. Plus, I love the compact and the huge mirror. The hot pink reminds me of the very old MAC Heatherette Collection packaging. Aaaaah.. Memories.
